Blue Ocean Restaurant Mitchelstown

We went for a family meal out to this restaurant on a Tuesday evening. Place was empty and only customers were there for collections nobody else ever turned up. The food was bog standard nothing worthy of going back for seconds. We ordered an array of dishes from starters mains and dessert. My own main came out without the sides and I was left there waiting for about five to ten minutes awaiting on my sides (chips) while everyone else eat there dinners. We had two different servers doing us a lovely guy who was really good at what he done and super helpful. The other server seemed more interested in undermining her colleague in front of us. Considering we were the only people in the place it was hard to get noticed if we needed anything. My other lovely half covered the bill and decided against tipping as the whole bill came to just under 150 euro and due to the female server being hmmmmm the decision was made not to tip as the person who deserved it probably wouldn't see any of it. A sign says under new management I think the old management probably weren't as bad as the new ones. Overall never going back.

Delicious, tasty, flavourful food and excellent service, the staff were friendly, attentive, and made the experience very enjoyable.

The only downside is the atmosphere, which felt a bit flat and could be improved with softer lighting better background music, and a more inviting décor.

Overall, I’d definitely return for the food alone. However with a few tweaks to the ambiance, this place could be outstanding. None the less 5 stars from me!

I can't get enough of this place.
Food is presented really well when delivered to your table. Wide selection of various eastern dishes. All taste as good as they look. Service is prompt, without being in your face. Easy recommendation.
